Additional information of Standard Savings account
The U.S. Bank Standard Savings account can be opened by anyone who applies for it, even if they are not already a U.S. Bank customer. It is not necessary that you have contracted other checking accounts with the bank.
The yield offered by this account is currently very low, only 0.01% APY, so if you want to get something more you can opt for other savings accounts of the bank itself, for certificates of deposit (CDs) or savings accounts from other banks.
With this account, as usual in this type of product, you have total availability of your money to deposit and withdraw it whenever you want. However, after the sixth withdrawal you make during the same month, you will have to pay a fee.
The monthly fee is $4, but you will not have to pay it if you maintain an average daily balance of $300 or monthly balance of $1,000. You will also not be charged if you are under 18 years old.
You can apply for the U.S. Bank Standard Savings account at any bank branch or online, and you will need a Social Security number and an ID, which can be a driver's license, state ID or military ID.
